Review

I liked the game. It is a very - and I mean it very challenging building strategy game (not TM) but that's why I liked it. Of course it requires loads of patience because of the way the advancing in game it's built. 

But to start with the story - well not too much to say - play either as Lucy and her horse Red, either as Walt and his dog Grizzy, colonizing the Wild West, the stories are a bit different but the going through is the same so no matters what you chose. 

The basics are classic for these games: gather resources and build, and clear obstacles. But this has a bit more complex things as you have to research for the various structures, you need, doctors, researchers, sheriff, trader and so on. The buildings are structured by types: Homes, Industry, Economy (trading), Community (doctor office, jail). Sometimes you have to demolish some to make place for others and all can be upgraded. Also homes can be improved that makes better happier workers. 

The tasks appears in a scroll-down bar up-right of screen and is not quite easy handling but ok. To advance on map sections a certain status / points level is required. You get 1 point for finishing the level with bronze, 2 for silver and 3 for gold. 

There 4 difficulties to chose from Novice to Pro that influence the game speed (time allocated to levels goals). I finished Santa Fe with gold in Normal mode but I had to switch to Novice in the following map for gold. Yes some patience and yes some replaying the levels and rethinking the strategy is required but no so critical. I didn't exactly like that I had to drag the workers all over the place but I got used to it in time. 

Good and fun graphics and characters with a bit of a rustic (very trendy) look and good sounds. Music yuck but off button helps. 

Some achievements to get if you care about these things. Overall somewhere in between 3.5 and 4 but close enough to 4 to round..
