Review

The third installment in the Jojo's Fashion Show series certainly isn't a bad game, but despite its higher quality graphics and incorporation of supposedly "real" styles, it still fails to be as good as either the first or second. 

This game was praised for its stronger plot, but the majority of players are unlikely to care much. Some might not even notice it at all because of how strikingly different the graphics are. Though efforts were clearly made to portray the models more realistically, the end result is quite jarring -- the models look more like wax figurines than human beings, an unfortunate departure from the likable quirkiness of the models in the previous games. 

Contrariwise, the graphics for the cutscenes in between the shows have been somewhat downgraded. In the previous games, cartoon-like images were used for both the game's characters as well as the models. In "World Tour," however, the characters' images have been replaced with vector graphics, which at times reminded me of woodcuts.

Unlike the first and second Jojo's Fashion Show games,"World Tour" selects for styles that more or less relate to the location where the show is supposedly being held. Also, the third game offers the ability to design your own clothes, all the while letting you know what attributes you can apply to your garment to rack up the most points, thus putting the focus on the "worth" of the clothing, rather than creativity.

If you found yourself dissatisfied by the first two Jojo games but are still interested in a fashion-themed time management game, you might want to give "World Tour" a try. Personally, however, I'll stick to games one and two..
