[142] [Match - 3] Call of Atlantis - Treasures of Poseidon

Review

If you liked The Path of Hercules, The Call of Atlantis, and The Rise of Atlantis, undoubtedly, you’ll like Call of the Ages too. It’s M3, with a bit of history thrown in via the video cut-scenes, and even has a relaxed mode. In other words, it’s pretty much more of the same (good) game.

The game boasts of 90 levels, 60 bonus levels, and 40 achievements to lure you in. I do like this series, but what I truly dislike is the inability to make matches during cascades. If a game offers timed mode, one should be able to make the most of one’s time, including the period during which the items fall down the screen. To the game’s credit, the kudos given for making rapid matches, greater number of matches in fewer moves, and longer matches make the player feel good about him or herself.

The Collector’s Edition offers the usual wallpapers, even music, if you are into that sort of thing. Frankly, I am content to continue playing the other games in this series, and after my one-hour trial, I am giving this CE a pass and will fire up Call of Atlantis on my iDevice. Btw, if you exit playing during the trial, you might have to close the application window and restart to the original Playrix splash screen to replay since the “buy now” button was the only button available after quitting the game.

I rated Call of Atlantis 4 stars, but couldn't find a place to put the Call of the Ages game released today, which I rate as 3 stars.......
