[144] [Marble Popper] Evy - Magic Spheres
Review
Who knew that adding RP elements to a marble popping game can be so much fun?
Writers of RP games have a tendency to ‘overdo it’ with intricate details that get lost in the story, but there’s just enough of it in this game to make it interesting and work.
When Zuma and Luxor first came out, everybody I know played it. (Even clerks at the post office played it during their breaks ) But after a while, many other similar games followed and the initial hysteria subsided. (Something that’s currently happening to HOGs, IMO)
Evy – Magic Spheres, got me addicted from the start. The graphics are pretty and the music suits the mood of the game. The gameplay is simple – in each level you fight a villain by connecting 3 or more spheres while each color corresponds to: red-attack, green-heal, blue-protect etc. There are also bonus bonus levels that don’t differ much in gameplay but sure come as a nice break between levels. The upgrade system is easy to understand and the overall impression is that the game is easy. But fear not, because this game will, as you progress, have you spitting at the screen in anger.
A nice little game that might help revive the seemingly forgotten genre of casual games. I’d recommend it to my friends.......
