[138] [Match - 3] The Path of Hercules
Review
This is Atlantis all over. New graphics and new music, but same game.
I played this game at the same time as Vampire Ventures, also a match-3. Hercules has better music and much better graphics. And we learn quite a number of things about Hercules and his labors. It offers two rounds of Match-3 combined with Hidden Object Scenes. Vampire Ventures sticks to Match-3, but it has three variations, so it is better for real Match-3 fans. And it tells the story of a young vampire girl living on strawberry juice. But the juicer has been stolen, so she sets off to find it back. A hilarious story told by a wonderful voice over. The accent is thick, but lovely.
Like the previous reviewers told you, Hercules is unoriginal, especially when you have already played one of the Atlantis games. There is only one type of Match-3 and objects near the wall are very irritating. In the second round you do the same game all over again, but you are now confronted with additional rocks. These however behave the very same way objects do. Often you get stuck by a pile of objects and rocks near the bottom. Luckily the power ups are very useful, especially the amulet. Objects next to the wall however can often only be freed by the swapping power up. Alas, you do not get too many of those.
Technically not bad, but this game takes a long time loading, which is annoying. Once you are in it this problem is over.
The Path of Hercules is not too bad, but there is little fun playing it. The good graphics make me rate it 2.6 stars, so I round........
