[147] [Marble Popper] Zuma's Revenge
Review
I believe this is a GREAT game!
Zuma was first released by PopCap Games in 2003. And it marked the birth of Marble Popper genre in casual game. But start from 2005, its predecessor -- Luxor (2005) along with its massive "tails" like Luxor: Amun Rising (2006), Luxor 2 (2006), Luxor 3 (2007) & the recent Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife (2008) -- has taken the world of Marble Popper and somewhat blurred the existence of Zuma. Despite the fact that the fact is that (:P), I can safely say: Zuma's Revenge! is a awesomely great Marble Popper game that can entertain you for some time, I mean it!! :)
As a Marble Popper expert, I completed the Adventure Mode in just 3 hours. But if I ended playing, I wouldn't have known its over-the-top replayability. I started playing other modes, which are absolutely cool: Heroic Frog is, actually, the Hard Mode of Adventure Mode. And the Iron Frog Gauntlet features 10 hardest levels that can, well, make my b*** be stuck with it forever!! :))
PROS: Great visual effects. Suitable music & audio. Challenging, addictive & fun gameplay. Awesome "Boss Battle" levels. 4 modes are equally cool -- you'd better try all of 4! Some fun gags.
CONS: Some ugly, not-so-awesome environment design/characters. Uninteresting storyline. Ain't as "bold" as Luxor games/series.
Zuma's Revenge! seems like a finally sweet ending for Marble Popper genre, I guess. Rarely do people play this genre today. They just "Hidden Object & Adventure"! Even the great Luxor's creator MumboJumbo decided to make just only Hidden Object & Adventure game, instead of following the Luxor footsteps that helped 'em achieve success as today.......
